Recently Texas parents have raised concerns about the communication between students and their teachers. State Officials along with many school districts have recently set forth regulations and policies in place to prevent any kind of abusive communication. These means of communication are though mobile phones, email, text messages, blogs, instant messaging services, and social media. This has been one of the latest updates to the Texas Educators’ Code of Ethics proposed by the State Board for Educator Certification and endorsed by the State Board of Education. Teacher’s who are found guilty of any inappropriate communication is subject to losing their certification to teach in the state of Texas. With so many people using social media daily this will surely be topic of discussion amongst PTA groups all over Texas.
